About Me

My name is Sue and I have a passion for skin care and I’m here to share it with you.

When I was young I didn’t really think too much about skin care – being young and carefree and thinking that I would be young forever, of course… But I always used a moisturiser. I think my grandmother got me started on Ponds Cold Cream, and then Olay when I hit my teens. I always had pretty good skin, despite the ravages of hormones! And I was very lucky that I never experienced the ravages of acne. Although I spent a lot of time in the sun, I was always careful to use a sunscreen and wear a hat to protect my face. I wish I had been so careful with the rest of my body.

Over the years I tried many different brands, but when I hit my 40’s I decided that I needed something a little more hardcore so I looked into the emerging world of cosmeceuticals and I was hooked.

Also hitting my 40’s I realized that my diet could be better, and that I could no longer eat whatever I wanted – despite the fact I was going to gym 6 days a week. That big sugar-laden muffin for lunch just had to go! Only in the last 4-5 years have I gotten really serious about what I eat, and have cut out sugar and bad fats – and I have never enjoyed food so much. There are so many wonderful, tasty foods available to tantalise the taste buds. Being a sugar and chocolate addict you may think that it would be really hard to give them up – but there are so many alternatives. I make dark chocolate with cacao, coconut oil, cranberries (all full of antioxidants) and a little pure maple syrup or rice malt syrup, maybe 2 tablespoons. I have so much fun researching skin care and treatments, as well as experimenting with my food.

Just a little insight on how I got to create my own website.  After being made redundant from my job of 17 years, I took on varied temporary positions. Whilst this paid the bills, I decided that I didn’t really want to do office work for the rest of my life.  I needed something to fulfil me.  A friend told me that given my passion for skin care, especially targeting ageing skin, that I should create a website.  My dream has come true – to be able to reach so many people and share my experiences, show you the best products I can find, with various hints & tips along the way.  So please enjoy visiting my website and I will continue to offer the best information on products, supplements, healthy foods and beauty services.
